Poor Michael at Compass Coffee going to get back in the office to cancel 25,000 orders of a Burr Coffee Grinder. Sweating profusely having to hear from 2,000 Karens who believe he should honor a price error even though it would put his small business bankrupt.
I'll devote my next cup of coffee to him for the hard work he is about to do on a simple website mistake.
These are the times that make me want to leave Slickdeals.
This code was obviously not supposed to get out. It was probably intended for a few people who were instructed to use it on an item or two as some sort of a gift, possibly as a charitable type thing.
A small business can't just front a loss like this, especially to a group who isn't going to want to pay full price for anything they have, much less for an extended period of time where they could actually (eventually) break even.
This isn't Target or Amazon. I would really encourage you to not get upset when your order is cancelled and instead to have some compassion for this owner who now has to spend hours and hours trying to remedy an honest mis-take while having people berating him via email and otherwise (as I see some of you are ALREADY ready to do).
These are pretty much set at $100-140. Baratza direct sells refurbs for $100+shipping. I don't believe they have ever been this low. These will be canceled, I am 99% sure. Not to mention, this is a pretty small company. Plus iirc, they literally just let go of 80% of their staff last year.
Yes its half off but seems like a mistake. I feel this is not a slick deal ..pls don't expect to get away lol
I grind my coffee at Costco where I buy the coffee beans, will having this grinder home make my experience special, not joking just looking for some honest feedback? TIA
Ideally you want to grind your beans right before making a cup. You don't want to grind an entire bag and watch those ground beans go stale quickly. Whole beans last longer. Less surface area is in contact with oxygen.

i would order with next day shipping IIWY, not sure if it be worth it by then though, if these by the miracles of the Greek god of coffee do get through.

Didn't even see the store, I just bought it, and now I feel bad for him :-|!

Only you can determine if having this grinder at home will make your experience special. But it's pretty safe to say that you should notice a big difference between the coffee you ground at Costco when you bought the beans and the coffee you ground at home right before you brewed them.
If this deal gets honored then this company gets praise. People talk about them like they are the coffee Gods. If they cancel... they probably have to delete their website. The Yelp reviews. Woah, it will be brutal.
Just the cancellations alone would be brutal. Paypal doesn't refund fees anymore, right? 😬 They will lose thousands of dollars in lost PayPal fees. This is why you need accurate inventory....

I wonder how long the lines are at his shops with people waiting to get theirs . . .

If they ship all of them, they would go out of business. There have probably been like 2000 orders. Not only do they not have the inventory, I HIGHLY doubt they'd make profit on these.
I've been watching deals on this for more than a month, went into BF with this on my list of ~5 specific things I was looking for. I ended up buying two within about 24 hours! Ty OP!
Unlike others here, I don't think I'm going to cancel the $111 order from yesterday though. The last thing I want is to do that, find out this is cancelled on Monday with some flimsy excuse, and then find myself back to exactly where I've was the last couple months, nursing a dying capresso grinder as I wait for a deal
