Poor Michael at Compass Coffee going to get back in the office to cancel 25,000 orders of a Burr Coffee Grinder. Sweating profusely having to hear from 2,000 Karens who believe he should honor a price error even though it would put his small business bankrupt.
I'll devote my next cup of coffee to him for the hard work he is about to do on a simple website mistake.
These are the times that make me want to leave Slickdeals.
This code was obviously not supposed to get out. It was probably intended for a few people who were instructed to use it on an item or two as some sort of a gift, possibly as a charitable type thing.
A small business can't just front a loss like this, especially to a group who isn't going to want to pay full price for anything they have, much less for an extended period of time where they could actually (eventually) break even.
This isn't Target or Amazon. I would really encourage you to not get upset when your order is cancelled and instead to have some compassion for this owner who now has to spend hours and hours trying to remedy an honest mis-take while having people berating him via email and otherwise (as I see some of you are ALREADY ready to do).
I grind my coffee at Costco where I buy the coffee beans, will having this grinder home make my experience special, not joking just looking for some honest feedback? TIA
Depends on how your Costco has their grinders calibrated. I find it varies but at home you'll control what goes into it, i.e., not mixing with flavored coffee though some places have separate machines for those. At home, you can also grind the beans as needed. This can affect taste, which is also affected by storage and so on.

Leading up to the closure of 6 of its locations in mid-March 2020 due to COVID-19, Compass laid off 150 of its 189 employees, 80 percent of its staff.[11] Despite receiving over $9.9 million in government assistance, Compass has yet to rehire nor achieve the level of staffing before the March 2020 layoffs.[12]
Yea preach bro, people need to leave these teenie tiny small businesses alone, go pick on someone their own size, if these $60 grinders ship this guy will never financially recover, he will likely need to go on welfare.

Fair, but even if this code was meant for just a few people, its pretty silly to just send out a blanket "50% off" for any item in the store. Especially if they are a small business, getting 50% off a $7k espresso maker for just "a few people" would put them in a real bad spot financially.
If this was really designed for a few people, they should have programmed it as such and limited the coupon to specific account email addresses, or specify items or categories that it can be used on. But they didn't, they allowed it to be used by anyone and for any item, so this is on them and whomever shared this if it wasn't meant to be made public.
That said, if this gets canceled, I would hope that the vast majority of slickdealers would move on and not berate the business and chalk this up to another "missed" deal. But as we have seen in the past several years, SD is now about resellers and people getting angry that a "too good to be true" deal was canceled.

fresher grind is way better. like grind them right before you make a pot. pre-ground, even done at costco yourself, loses flavor and oils before you can brew it. idk the technical terms but have read about it plenty of times.

Every step you take to get fresh coffee is a step in the direction of the best the beans have to offer. Recently roasted: better beans.
Stored in a dark, air-tight container: better beans.
Ground right before brewing: better beans.
Grinding beans at the store and using them throughout the week won't make your beans bad, but it will lose some of the flavor potential.
Hope that helps.

This is a long post to say. "I missed this deal and I'm BIG MAD!".
Are you trolling or just can't comprehend that some people actually have some compassion for business owners who deal with rude people? I ordered one, but I'm fully prepared for it to be cancelled and would just move on. The entitlement and lack of shame I see on here sometimes leaves me speechless. It only amplifies that when a person is a member for SD for many year and barely posts or hasn't earned any reputation points and complains the loudest.

Also grinding at home gives that freshly grounded coffee smell, one of the best smell in life (this and the new car )
These are pretty much set at $100-140. Baratza direct sells refurbs for $100+shipping. I don't believe they have ever been this low. These will be canceled, I am 99% sure. Not to mention, this is a pretty small company. Plus iirc, they literally just let go of 80% of their staff last year.
The only other time I've seen them close to this price was when Starbucks was blowing out their online shop and had 50% off everything. I was one of the lucky few who go one of these grinders for like $69 - nice. This company however is no Starbucks and certainly didn't mean for this code to get into Slickdealer hands, so these orders are gonna get cancelled.
Weird refund email notice came into my inbox about 20 minutes ago. They refunded all the free items. But it looks like the grinder is still in the works. Let's see how they tease us out.
