Poor Michael at Compass Coffee going to get back in the office to cancel 25,000 orders of a Burr Coffee Grinder. Sweating profusely having to hear from 2,000 Karens who believe he should honor a price error even though it would put his small business bankrupt.
I'll devote my next cup of coffee to him for the hard work he is about to do on a simple website mistake.
These are the times that make me want to leave Slickdeals.
This code was obviously not supposed to get out. It was probably intended for a few people who were instructed to use it on an item or two as some sort of a gift, possibly as a charitable type thing.
A small business can't just front a loss like this, especially to a group who isn't going to want to pay full price for anything they have, much less for an extended period of time where they could actually (eventually) break even.
This isn't Target or Amazon. I would really encourage you to not get upset when your order is cancelled and instead to have some compassion for this owner who now has to spend hours and hours trying to remedy an honest mis-take while having people berating him via email and otherwise (as I see some of you are ALREADY ready to do).
Shouldn't have said anything...I got my refund email. Also, is there any chance the OP is "Michael" from Compass? Hmmm
Prob as simple as their first thought being ok let's just sell what we got and cancel the rest. Then they sat on it and were like you know what screw that, all canceled.
Mine got cancelled as well, but they didn't cancel adding me to their Compass email community even though I specifically did NOT check the box to join because I didn't want that. They joined me anyhow. Time to go unsubscribe now.
Unfortunate for this long established business. Unfortunate for all of us too.
I'm unsubscribed from their emails, would never recommend their brand to anyone. If you care about business ethics all should consider same actions against this despicable campaign to increase their email database!!!
Read about them and the "no tipping" and Union busting info they have on Wikipedia about the company. Took a bunch of government money and laid a ton of employees off. Wouldn't be sad if this place goes bankrupt
