Better than a controlled study - try it out yourself. That was the point of my post. There isn't much controversy about the reasons for toe spring being incorporated. It is because shoemakers lengthen the toe area beyond the toes for aesthetic purposes. This however won't let you walk right without tripping. So Toe Spring becomes a necessity.
As for the effects of toe spring on the foot, you can literally try it out yourself. That was the point of my post. Try it out and you can tell for yourself. Wear it for a week or two, then try barefoot, or a "barefoot shoe" for a week or two. See how your muscles and ligaments feel. If no issues, good for you go ahead with it.
