I'm one of those people! I ordered one for myself when it first came up, 4+ month estimate ended up being 4 weeks till shipment, 5 days to arrive via 2 day air because it sat in customs for 3 days. The second time it came around I ordered for a friend. That time it shipped in 10 days and arrived 3 days after shipping notification was sent. Both times it said eta 4+ months on my order history until the day they shipped. If anyone is on the fence about ordering cause you think you have to wait 4 months I'd say go for it. It likely won't take more than a month and if you get impatient/wanna cancel its quick and easy, just a couple clicks via the order confirmation page.

This deal first appeared in September then again in October. Some people in the last thread reported to have gotten it in a couple of weeks. This isn't being shipped on a shipping container, it ships via air, so there isn't an issue of it getting stuck at a port. Still, there is a risk. 4 months is insane for them to put in there by any measure!

It should still work. You need to configure it exactly like the OP. Try opening a new browser session and follow the exact same steps again.

Sounds similar to a lot of laptops I've ordered in the past around black friday. HP did the exact same thing last year, and the laptops arrived a month later. They arrived on Christmas Eve!

According to notebookcheck, around 9 hours without the WQXGA display. So with it I'm assuming it would be around 7-8 hours.

Light gaming. You could get acceptable frame rates on older games. I played Halo on my Thinkpad, it's not meant to be a gaming computer though.

It would be interesting to see how well this performs against the Steamdeck, if I had to guess, it's very unlikely the Steam deck could outperform this laptop. Until we get actual benchmarks, from consumer released models, we won't know for sure.
