I would be sure to check the gift card balance right after purchasing these. I bought some gift cards on black friday at Dollar General and they were not activated. I found it strange that their registers let them charge for the gift card and take your money, with it not being activated. I was lucky and found this out shortly after purchasing and the store refunded my money, but while I was in there 2 phone calls came through to the store with the same issue. One person gave the card as a gift and when the recipient went to redeem it there was no balance. The store told her she needed a receipt to get any refund but she said she didn't have it so she was out of luck. So just a warning to check on the balances right away.

I had an issue recently too. I blame the cashier. I handed him four cards. He proceeded to scan 1 card 4 times. I told him that gift cards have no value until you scan them, and that scanning only 1 wouldn't work. Well sure enough, the register spit out errors after checkout. He had to get a supervisor, and tried to sell me the errored cards and had issue again. He told me to grab 4 more cards then scanned those then gave them to me. I got in the car and immediately redeemed them to see if they would work, very sketchy. I bought 4 more from a different dollar general, and I feel better about giving those as gifts this Christmas.

Well Apple gift cards were recently on sale, and you can use Gamestop cards from this deal to get apple or google play cards.

If you pay cash, cashier is scaming you. Always pay with CC. Takes a while for those cards to register. Also, make sure they scan individually. Eyes on the cards that that you hand them. They could also do a switcheroo with the non activated one. Especially when they are on sale and people buying 4 at a time.

You are never out of luck if you pay with a credit card. One of the best features if you are paying with a card is that you can dispute the charge, and the card company always sides with the customer first and the retailer has to provide proof saying otherwise. Normally the retailer never does and you either get that credit on your statement and or you keep whatever item was in dispute and you get a statement credit for it.

Not sure about family plans. When I added the card in the past ($10), it just added 1 month to my individual account without charging taxes. It felt more like a monthly credit than a $ credit to me.

Frequest deals to be had on Apple, and at least once a year on most others. Steam is the one that never goes on sale anymore. But supposedly according to this thread it is YMMV if you can buy giftcards with giftcards at GameStop.

Dollar Tree, but it's just ordinary inflation. They've been doing crazy acrobatics for years to keep that price point, but it was always just kicking the can down the road.

At the beginning, they were just getting good deals on end runs and closeouts. Then they started commissioning smaller size packages of ordinary products. Now it's the smaller packaging but off-brand garbage. I'm hopeful this change will get them to where they were a few years ago.

You have to buy them individually. Let say you buying 5 ps cards, you have to make 5 different transactions in order to work properly. Straight from the cashier at DG. She said there were compalins about cards not being equipped with value so thats how it gets done. One trans per card.

Should this deal work on any amount of those retailer gift cards or just the amounts listed in the ad? Tried to get 2 $10 Spotify cards tonight and they rang up normal price but our local store didn't have any of the higher value ones. And the cashier had no idea

Target runs sales on all of their gift cards and with red card it comes out to a pretty good % off (I think about 7-10%) or you can get gamestop and use them to buy steam. The game stops around me tell me that you can use GS giftcards to buy gaming oriented giftcards but nothing else.
