any size as you can always just keep the volume lower especially w/ Klipsch as they have such high SP levels at around 96-97db.. Just make sure the dimensions and color will work in your room and trust me this set up will sound very nice with a quality AV receiver/ AMp.

I have a 7.1.2 surround sound system similar to this (Klipsch RP) but with separate Atmos speakers and a little bit different setup, in a pretty small home theater room and I love how it sounds. I'm no pro audio person, but am really into music, play instruments, and have been into stereos/sound my whole life, and I'm beyond happy with it.

I just got my set hooked up and love it! It rocks, the 280's are huge. The walnut looks great.

I have an older non atmos 7.2 receiver. I am happy with the sound and will maybe upgrade in the future.

If he needs to keep the volume low, why not just buy a more cost saving solution for that small room.

Ugh, walnut again? I'd pull the trigger on this deal if it was offered in black.

Does distance factor in or does only the angle matter?
Yes they both factor in, the more you can follow the layout the better the results.

On paper yes this is considered better because this is Klipsch's "RP" line and the Costco one is their "R" line.

Sound wise most people would say these perform/sound better also.

Now whether they sound better to you and more importantly is it worth the money is what no one can answer.

If you are happy with your system I would think twice before upgrading.

It can get costly and truth be told it's really only worth it when done properly IMO.

Since your speakers produce the sound and if they want to improve their sound, looking at those 1st would be a better option IMO.

A good quality 5/7.1 system will easily rival if not out perform these "Atmos" alternatives IMO.

How do these Compare to the B&W 600s?

Price wise seems a huge gap but wondering is there really that much of a difference?

That does seem to be the pattern this year on the reference and reference premier lines, that and those small satellite speaker setups. I did find a deal on RP in Piano black, but had to comb dealer sites to find it.

Meaning you had to buy the individual items from multiple dealers? I know that's the best way to save but I just can't find the time to do all that. I was hoping to buy a packaged deal. I know they usually throw in some subpar components with package deals but I'm willing to accept that as it will still be way better than my cheap $300 HTIB setup.

Sound wise very different. Klipsch is one of the brightest/harshest sound it will definitely be in your face sound.
600's are much more laid back, more on the natural sound. Some may find them to laid back.
It comes down to your preference in sound which is better and or worth the price.

That's not true with Klipsch anymore. Older Klipsch were brighter but these RP series ones are much neutral.

Sorry I would disagree I've listened to pretty much all their models and I would agree the newer models are not as bright but by no means would I say they fall under a neutral sound.
They are still bright compared to other brands. Even the people I know that own Klipsch would not say they are neutral.
This is all subjective so if they are neutral to you, then that's all that matters for you.

I have the 8000's and the 8060's which are basically the same unit... The 8000's are a bit smoother in the mid/high since they are using the newer horn/tweeter design. Is it a huge difference? NO! Not really, some might not even notice it. If the 280's were much less then a 8000 I would def pick it up. If they were close by lets say $50-$100, I would pick up the 8000 series. That's my honest opinion... Keep in mind, the Klipsch sound on these RP series speakers all sound on the "bright" side, so keep that in mind. It;s not until you get into their heritage series where things really start to shine as in the new Forte IV's, now those are smoooooth. Fantastic Mids on it. Love them..
Also worth noting that the 8060s are Atmos with upward firing speakers. Big difference there.
