This might be a good deal, might not be, but either way you should know this post is an ad made by one of the site admins (check the user's history and note the percentage of "deals" that happen to always be to Adorama.

Slickdeals definitely has a relationship with Adorama. With that said, these deal threads are the only way to get these deals from Adorama. If you go directly to the adorama website and find these sets, the price is much higher.

I don't get the gimmick of the "Walnut" look.. Piano black, flat white..etc... looks more classy.
One, it's not even close of being real walnut and second even real walnut looks like the walls in mobile homes.

Just ordered. I'm a fan of Jamo and they're owned by Definitive. Will be an upgrade to my current setup
Jamo is owned by Klipsch, which itself is owned by a mega corp that owns many audio brands. Jamo reuses many Klipsch internals. I don't think they are related to Definitive Technolgies at all (if that is what you were referring to).

Still one of the most solid budget brands there is though, so don't let that dissuade you.

Ordered. Anyone have a good inexpensive receiver that would optimize this setup? Looking for 5.1 or 7.1 with hdmi arc as I will use this primarily for movies and gaming

I would just check your local Craigslist or FB Marketplace for a used Yamaha/Sony receiver. A few years old and they don't have all the bells and whistles like Wi-Fi...but they sound just as good as the newer ones. I usually see them going for less than $100.

Well I'm going to answer my own question. The s801 is smaller in both form and performance I guess
The 803s are atmos ready or whatever. You can add atmos speakers on top of them.

I'm having trouble with exactly what features I need. Assuming everything I have hooked up to the receiver uses wifi, what would I need it for?

I'm getting ready to do an impulse buy on these (no research). For someone who would use them in a 12 × 12 room for movies and gaming (xbox series x), would i have buyers remorse? 😬 is this the best bang for my buck?

I am very particular with way things sound and these sound great. I have them setup in a 12x20 room and have had them for over a year. You will need a sub though. I also recommend the atmos modules.

I have been watching these since the last deal 3 weeks ago. It is a very good set for the money I think primarily bc if the floor standing speakers.

I got the walnut because that is what they had in stock at the time. I was worried that it would look cheap in that color, but boy was I wrong. These look very classy.

I was also looking at the klipsch 5.1 reference set and the jamo 5.0 set for like $239 on amazon. The floor standing speakers are supposedly that good and I'm hoping will makeup for not having a sub initially. Really need to make a decision on receiver now.

Anyone know how long it takes adorama to ship? I do not need it right away but want to make a quick decision on a receiver. Not much stock I guess bc of the chip shortage?

Noob here.
How does these compare to a set of Pioneer Andrew Jones set? Frys used to carry them and on sale regularly.

I'm assuming you're talking about wifi for the receiver. No, you don't need it. Mine doesn't have wifi, and it works just fine. My guess is that wifi would let you connect to the home network, and lets you control the receiver with Alexa/Google Assistant...Most recent receivers have 5.1 to 9.1 channel setup, optical and HDMI. I don't need any more features than just the basics listed above. To turn it into a "smart" device, I use Logitech Harmony (universal remote, can be controlled by a smartphone) to control it, and the TV.
