You kinda answered your own question. People play multiplayer, and as for the free games there have been good and some not so good selections. Too each their own.

Ebay charges tax on all gift cards (at least for CA) which is incorrect, so I never buy them there anymore.

Even Brick & Mortar stores in California don't charge tax on gift cards.

Pro tip - If you can add a shipping address to Anchorage, AK, it evades the tax. But this is with the hope that they do indeed message the code through the ebay inbox and not ship it to the address in Alaska. (So, YMMV)

While we are penny-pinching, might as well be good at it!

For those who do play online, it is in fact worth it. It's convenient, and saves you money (prevents Sony from auto billing at full price).

Not it was in the mid to low 20s last year.

EDIT: Scratch that. For some reason I thought it went below $24, but I would only find it going down to around $27 in the post history.
