Max what out homie? Which exercise? I've been an incredibly athletic, rugby playing 185lbs at 5'11 and I never curled 50+lbs, I don't do tricep extensions with 50+lbs, I don't do side and front shoulder raises with 50+lbs. Not everyone lifts the way you do, AND crazy as it may seem, some people have different pieces of equipment for different things.

See I can warm up chest and shoulder with the blocks and then bench with an Olympic bar. I can use these for walking exercises, back exercises, hip exercises. Should I go on? Gatekeeping thick bro here.

because not everyone is a "normal, healthy 135lb+ male that's over 18 years old"

women, men over 60, rehabbing patient, light workouts wanted....etc...

gotta love the one size fits all person who thinks everybody is just like him

Good deal. Even though it's not expandable and can only go up by 5lbs on the one, it's still much better than the Bowflex.

Get the personal trainer one. Even though it's uglier than the other one, it has more features.

Great deal, but note that it's not expandable. Dealbreaker for me.

Correct.

I have the set from the first link and really like how open they are at the top. I prefer them over my 70 Classic set which is more like the personal trainer set.

Was thinking of getting the bowflex. Besides the $10 difference with the Personal trainer set what makes these better?

Is it worth paying $55 more for the "Elite" model on Amazon?

https://www.amazon.com/POWERBLOCK...028&sr=8-2

I'm looking for a little bit higher weight and I'm not sure if it's worth getting these and expanding them or just holding out for a set that goes higher from the start.

It's 100% worth it upgrading to the elites, just keep in my mind that the normal amazon price for the elites is around $400, not the $450 that says on the page, so not that crazy of a sale.

Edit: These look identical to my expandable set, but according to the description they are not. I would personally pass on this and get the set you can expand up to 90lb.

I bought these a few years ago on Woot and use them a few times a week - definitely recommend! With that said, I did end up buying the stage 2 and 3 upgrade kits to bring them up to 90lb each.
These specific ones are not expandable. But yes I would I agree that its worth buying a set of exp ones. I have stage 2 and 3 as well and I used them almost every day. Much better than the bowflex 552s (my dad has a set and they just feel janky).

The main pros of these over Bowflex is that they have less plastic parts (so they should be sturdier and last longer) and the shape changes based on weight whereas with the Bowflex the dumbbells are the same size whether you're using 52.5 lbs or 5 lbs. These are definitely a better buy. You can dig and actually see a lot of people posting issues about Bowflex. PowerBlocks likely won't have issues, but if any do come up, they should be fixable either by getting a weld re-welded or getting a replacement selector pin, which you can from their website.

Edited, he's right. Look at Dick's. They sell the expansions.

Best deal I can find on exp 90 sets is 20% off @ dicks. Everything still goes for MSRP but you can do 10% off signup code + 10% from CB site. Or just buy locally for cheaper if youre lucky
