I have a Sony 950H which is considered one of the best LED's and a 2017 LG OLED...there is no comparison between the two. They are both excellent, but there is no LED comparison for the infinite black on an OLED. Brightness is not nearly as important as a lot of LED fanboys would make you believe.
OLED's are more than bright enough to display HDR and run in a bright room.
Those are just more BS myths put out there by LED manufacturers (and echoed by people who don't want to pay the OLED premium or can't afford it) to try to steer you away from a superior product.

Because the performance is basically the same except for "the cognitive processor" that many say makes little difference. Unless you like gaming that is , because of the addition of hdmi 2.1

Not really. Panel is going to be the same. Sony has better processing for movies movies and tv

Did you buy the A8H or A80J (A80CJ at Costco)? This deal is for the A8H which is a 2020 model whereas Costco has the A80J on sale for $1800 right now. If it was the A8H I don't think they would price match but the extra warranties are probably worth the difference.

LG has better customer service than Sony, right? This is rather tempting since I was eyeing the C1 at Costco but have read Sony support is nonexistent in case something goes awry while LG is lax with replacing panels.

I dont think so....I would say if you were going to use it for mixed use then its worth it

In fact I am tempted to buy this and replace a LG CX I have for Sony's superior picture processing capability
