Picked it up with a $20 reward card... 64.95 and no tax!. FYI this is just as capable as the 3 cup induction cook model for 1/3 the price.

Hmm, sold by some kind of online store only available for military veterans.

I can't make an account there, being is that I've never been in the military. No deal for me, bummer.

For what it's worth, they're not just an online store. AAFES has over 3,000 brick & mortar locations, they just all on US military bases and government facilities.

Excellent selling point. A device made to cook rice that is made in the country that cooks the most rice.

Generally the posters or Front Page editors will point this out.

Made in China garbage

Consumer reports consistently ranks this brand as high rated, although I suspect there are factors you consider that they don't, is the politest way I can put it.

The ones made in Japan for this brand is way superior than the ones made in China. I know there are people who just comment "chinese" without any explanation but reviews online have talked about the vast difference in quality and price when buying from Japan or China. A lot of Japanese dishes are centered around the quality of the rice so it makes sense.

most threads explain it by saying get the top of the line ones because they are worth it and explain why those functionality makes making rice better over the cheaper one. these losers think just because it's made it china it's bad.

Not the best reviews for this site...

I've had consistently good service from them. Both in orders and over the phone. Although I have ordered items that showed in stock but it turned out their inventory system had over counted. Of course, they did not keep my money because they did not ship the item. They also do a lot of drop shipping and sometimes that is slower. They employ many veterans, so they are not in the business of screwing veterans over. Most issues relate to not having funding for a super fancy e commerce software or logistics. Don't expect Amazon lever service, but they get the job done. The money they save on fancy web store goes back to the troops in moral programs. So. I don't act entitled when shopping there and grateful to help current service members with on base perks. Even if I have to make a follow up phone call now and again or miss out on a clearance item because they ran out of stock, o don't get bent out of shape.
