Hmm, sold by some kind of online store only available for military veterans.
I can't make an account there, being is that I've never been in the military. No deal for me, bummer.
For what it's worth, they're not just an online store. AAFES has over 3,000 brick & mortar locations, they just all on US military bases and government facilities.

Consumer reports consistently ranks this brand as high rated, although I suspect there are factors you consider that they don't, is the politest way I can put it.
The ones made in Japan for this brand is way superior than the ones made in China. I know there are people who just comment "chinese" without any explanation but reviews online have talked about the vast difference in quality and price when buying from Japan or China. A lot of Japanese dishes are centered around the quality of the rice so it makes sense.

most threads explain it by saying get the top of the line ones because they are worth it and explain why those functionality makes making rice better over the cheaper one. these losers think just because it's made it china it's bad.

Excellent selling point. A device made to cook rice that is made in the country that cooks the most rice.
