wow. Thanks for posting this! I bought it 2 weeks ago for 649 online and just submitted for a price adjustment. This should be Frontpage at this price.

With that said, it is NOT the same TV as the U6G. Rtings just bought this TV for review and I am curious what they conclude, but willing to bet that it will not be as highly rated. Pictures settings are bare bones and cannot be customized like the U6G, but for $500, a decent TV for the kiddo.

Can't know, but my guess is it's the same and the washed out people lost the panel lottery. But just in case it's different, I'll stay away.

I ordered the 75" U6G but now see people say it's totally different panel than the other sizes. So Rtings loving it is worthless at 75"

Could be or a bad batch or something as folks were saying they all looked like that and were the worst looking TV's in Costco by far. I think Hisense rushed that one and messed something up for them to be that off. In any case that's prob why they are blowing them out for close to cost.

As for the 75 you are good with the u6g. That's reportedly a VA panel and so long as you got a good one you should be good. It's the u7g that's IPS in the 75.

If you are referring to those that say the 75" U6G has an IPS-style panel, while the other sizes have a VA panel, Rtings has confirmed the 75" is also VA. The 75" U7G has the IPS-style panel.

Thanks. Panicked about the 75" U6G for a moment. Not that I need more TV's, but hoping more users or Rtings says something about this U6GR5. I usually plug a Shield in anyways, so prefer Roku on the tv so I can use AirPlay too. Plus 3-5 year warranty on a budget tv is a perk.

Yep, OOS in the Chicago area too. Damn/ I had been waiting for a good 65" sale at Costco for the warranty, plus I had $250 in reward certificate to use.
Would not be able to hit any store until the pm, and guessing that would be a waste of time.

Oh well, congats to those who can get one, definitely the best bang per buck I have seen for 65" so far.
