I also heard the Pro 6 has buggy firmware and the Pro are better, even though you lose the Wifi 6.

I use a few year old air port extreme/time capsule. I live in a pretty regular neighborhood (so we're not stepping over each other on wifi channels). My house is just under 2000 sq ft. It's an old block home, so lots of thick walls.
My router covers the whole house and it sits in my office which is on one corner of the house. It's recently been moved to a less ideal spot as the office had to become a functional guest room too. I get full coverage on my whole house and up to my front yard, which is when signal finally cuts out. The office is nearer the back yard so it's fully covered. And I have a whole Nest house with devices, Hue light set up, 2 phones, tablets, laptop, and desktop all using the wifi.
Even the cost of my time capsule, which has 2 unique functions, wasn't the cost of these and the Apple tax! Unless you live in a 2-3 story huge house, I can't see how these are necessary? They are all still pretty expensive and I know it's uncommon, but the hassle of more items to manage and set up and possibly break seems even less worth it then.
Truly asking if most need these given the price and added complexity!
