Best scooter out there unless you want to drop a grand+. Nice find OP.

These can be hacked for higher top speed, I think it maxes out at 35 mph with updated firmware.

I have this scooter and I love it. for my needs , the stock speeds are plenty fast. I also ride this with my kid and it is so much fun.

You will need 48V battery upgrade to get to that speed. With stock battery, and FW hacked, you can get top speed of 24mph.

you dont need anything but a google phone and the firmware. my sons max tops out at 34 mph stock

You mean 34 KPH? That would be 18.6 MPH . As mentioned earlier, you can't go much faster without a 48V battery upgrade

Isn't it illegal to go over 20 in most states? What's the point of a scooter that goes over 20?

Will love to see a video on that. 36v cannot go 34mph. Unless you throttle without anyone riding on it. Or going down hill. Also, make sure you set your correct wheel diameter in the custom firmware to get the correct speedometer reading on your display. I build and own many electric scooters from 36v to 72v. 36v can top out at 24mph. Please link your custom firmware.

you can join scooter hacking discord if you need help flashing it, its not very hard to do and yes stock 34 MPH no extra batteries. you probably have gen1 if you are topping out at 24 MPH.

I have gen 2 motor Ninebot max (starts with 9) with hacked firmware (from max.cfw.sh aka scooterhacking.org) and stock battery.. and it doesn't go above 30mph. I also have a 48v battery mod from Nordbot which can go up to 33mph.

even on the custom firmware website

"With stock battery voltage (36-42V), the scooter will not go faster than 33km/h at full charge."

may i ask a question regarding hacking speed for es3 ninebot i recently bought on woot.com.
i want to hack it but not sure if the motor on that is capable of reaching 18mph. thanks

It's unsafe no doubt but I can hardly believe a cop will be sitting there and check scooter rider speeds with all the car accidents.

Extra speed upgrade helps for commuters and people who want to get to local stores or shopping areas faster, in addition hills ruin speed and this helps compensate for the 13 MPH or less youd get going up a hill. On the road in the bicycle lane is 20 mph really that ridiculous?
