The 5 pack of sensors is also on sale for about $36. This is the lowest the have been in a long time. These sensors transmit alerts over 433mhz so you can integrate them into home assistant with an SDR radio, if desired.

I think there were actually a few truly good deals on Govee before they became an SD Affiliate and got shilled by Paid SD Staff Influencers all the time.
Now SD has to get a cut :p
Promoted pumped "deal" is not an amazing price.
Govee: bring back the $20 price.

I have these and they work as desired. I really wish they were local-only rather than relying on some externally hosted service, but for what it is it's always worked well for me and does properly send push notifications/emails/etc when something springs a leak (which has happened twice in the past year).

I have the hub in my basement directly below two floors where the wifi router is, was surprised it picks it up (2.4Ghz) without issue and working great. What I like about this is you can place the gateway where it can receive wifi signal so the water sensors themselves can be off where I know wifi doesn't reach - like the very back of my basement. With other water sensors, I wouldn't be able to place it back there as it would need to connect directly to the wifi.

My two tips:

- be sure your phone/tablet is connected to the 2.4Ghz Wifi when setting up, as like many other IoT devices it uses 2.4Ghz wifi only for its better range vs 5Ghz

- if using an iPhone (not sure about Android), you need to allow GPS with 'Precise Location' enabled for the app during setup only. With the Precise Location off, it just wouldn't complete the setup

I don't know if it still exist, but back in the days most carrier allowed [email protected] so you can get a txt msg. For example it would be like [email protected] for a t-mobile number to receive txt.

I have a bunch of ST compatible leak sensors, but it's nice this one has audible alarm too. That said, it's nice the Samsung ST has sensor above the puck and below so I can sense dripping as well as puddling.

I actually tried that with my number/provider, but the confirmation text message to set up never arrived... there has to be a way to get do it though.. still looking.
