Personally I prefer using Capture One + Affinity Photo over Lightroom + Photoshop. None of that icky feeling of being shackled to Adobe.
I'm seeing some articles saying that if you purchase Now, you will receive an update automatically for free to version 22. You might want to look that up and verify.

Take note that the B&H page says free upgrade to Capture One Pro v22. (Take screen shots and keep this if you purchase as there has been ambiguity from Capture One on whether current v21 purchases will get the free upgrade to v22 when released in December.)
New v21 license for the manufacturer specific versions (Sony / Nikon / Fuji) are on sale for $139 and also show to include the free upgrade to v22. Personally I'm waiting for an upgrade license for the Sony version for around $79 to $99... C1 won't get an upgrade out of me this year with these current offerings.
Also the C1 BF/CM deals offered direct are crap... only sales on subscriptions and styles.

Last night Capture One Pro 21 for All Cameras was $199 + $25 GC and had the "Buy Capture One today and get a free upgrade to V22, coming later this year!" caption.

A new license for the Sony/Nikon/Fuji specific versions were listed @ $139 no GC, but also advertised a free upgrade to v22.
Looks like the free upgrades got pulled.
CaptureOne has been slowly trying to entice (force) people to move to their subscription model by slowing raising the prices of the perpetual versions while offering fewer sales/specials. I guess they have Adobe subscription envy but aren't offering the adobe value proposition. Adobe LR + PS + LR mobile sub is only $10 / mth and includes some cloud storage. C1 sub is $24/mth or $12/mth if buying a year subscription... but this offering isn't as full featured as LR + PS + LR mobile + cloud storage.

I believe they stop adding new camera and lens profiles when the new version comes out... unless you are on a subscription, which includes the new version.

Note - There *may* be some exceptions where a new camera might be supported one version back. Particularly if the camera is announced (not necessarily shipped) around the same time as a new release of C1. But there are many examples where the latest C1 version is required for new camera support.

Now I see the All Camera version at Adorama for $179 + $25 GC + free upgrade to v22 when it comes out. (I wouldn't be surprised if the free version upgrade is a mistake or gets pulled, but hopefully not.)
