This laptop seems to be priced pretty nice at 1899.99 with a additional 100 off thru rebate.

Just thought Id toss it up as I don't see it listed yet and it's a cyber deal. I'm trying to find a solid 17" model but the cost difference is just so substantial.

That's not impressive, those cost less then QHD 165hz displays which competition uses

The 240hz screen is the better ones used in the GP series. Colors area much better than the 144hz version. The RTX 3080 can be flashed to the 165W version on the GE76 series and gives you extra frames. The 11800H can be undervolted and gives you better thermals and performance that way. The advanced BIOS unlock gives you access to even more tweaking than most other laptop brands. Only thing would be the thermal paste job being an okay or slightly bad depending on your luck so I would definitely redo the thermal paste using something better than their stock paste. Thermalright TFX is my current go to as price and performance is good on that paste. Lack of ports might be an issue for some but 3 full USB 3.0 HDMI and mini displayport might be enough for some.

which competitor uses the QHD with similar specs? Wouldn't mind looking at those for another laptop.

Seems like a good price and great specs, but I wish laptop manufacturers would consider using a keyboard with a number pad. I'd use this for work (engineering) and gaming, but the lack of a num pad is a deal breaker for me.

You might check out the Lenovo Legions; they're in the ballpark spec-wise and have the num pad (and the design does not scream "gamer"). That said, I was looking at a 7i vs MSI GE66 and went with the latter as I was concerned a laptop fitting the num pad might make the keyboard too crowded.

I have the exact opposite reaction. A number pad squishes the keys too much, I will kill my hands after like 30 min typing on those ergo nightmares. I consider those unusable for work.

This is a repost I think, and I would highly recommend the $1949 edition, 144 hz with 100%DCI p3 color.

Mine arrived today - not sure if I just got a bad one but this thing runs crazy hot under any kind of sustained load (e.g. mining or gaming) - like 80+ degrees according to Afterburner before any OC! I'll try tweaking it a bit tomorrow (undervolt etc.) but will most likely return it and stick to 17" laptops with better thermals such as the GE76.
