This one is instant, core from Costco is not. Probably pretty similar quality, but instant tent is a no brainer. So much better if you are car camping, I will never go back to a regular tent.
The Ozark trail probably comes off the same assembly line as Coleman. They are very comparable in quality, as is the core tent. I love being able to return things to Costco, but I have owned 3 Ozark trail tents (buying bigger better ones, no issue with quality) and I keep buying them. I think they are great for the price you pay. I have a big instant tent from them that is my go to car camping tent. I would personally never purchase another non instant tent unless weight was a concern.
That is true of nearly every tent ever from wherever. Usually user error. If this tent (and most tents) are set up properly, leakage should not be an issue.
I would choose Costco just for the easy return alone.

This one. I have it only with the vestibule and it sets up quick, very dark during the day, stays cool, and has been nice and dry although I coated mine with waterproofing like I do for every tent. Save the $22.

Yeah, instant tents go up so quick and easy that I may not go back, for car camping. And that's saying something, because Coleman dome tents with two poles are an easy one-person job. I have an older version of this, same design but doesn't block light as well, and I can put it up by myself in practically no time - just unfold it, basically. Nice size - large cots don't touch the sides.
Ozark quality has been okay, in my experience. From what I've seen, the materials feel cheaper than comparable Colemans, but they still holdup. I've owned both, and been happy with them.
Warning: this is not an instant tent. This was on sale several weeks ago and I bought it because it mentioned "instant tent" two times in the description, however it was a standard pole setup. The description was wrong so I returned it. The "instant up" version of this tent is https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ozark-...t/53734745
I own 2 of these tents. Overall this is a great tent. Both the Dark and Instant features are things that once you have used you never want to go back to a regular tent. This tent is perfect for the weekender who goes out a dozen times a year, but lacks some quality and features to make it a 4 season tent. My only real complaint is the tent is shorter than most similar shaped tents and could be annoying for taller people. The 6 person version is great for a couple on a large double high mattress and functional for up to about 4 people in real life use.
Folks, I've been seeming tons of Wally tents on clearance. How do I know which one to get for an awesome price where I won't be rained on or ground soaked by a poor quality one, or something that breaks easily? I dunno which one to get…. But I know I won't spend retail pricing.
My details - in Florida so warm with tons of skeeters, 3 people, like fast setup type.
