I just got the iPhone 12 Mini with Straight Talk at Walmart for $299.99.

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Straig...hbdg=L1100

AT&T has a deal where if your phone is in perfect condition, they will take any phone worth $290 or more and give you $1,000 off the new 13 Pro and Pro Max for the Cyber Monday deal.
Quote :
To qualify for $1000 credit, minimum Trade-In value must be $290 or higher after device condition questions have been answered
Eligible devices:
  • Apple iPhone: 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max, 12, 12 mini, 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max, 13, 13 mini, 13 Pro, 13 Pro Max
  • Samsung Galaxy: Fold, Fold 5G, S20 Ultra 5G, Note20, Note20 Ultra 5G, S21+ 5G, S21 Ultra 5G, ZFold2 5G, Z Flip3 5G, Z Fold3 5G
  • OTHER: Microsoft Surface Duo, OnePlus 9 5G, OnePlus 9 Pro 5G
The great thing is, the 12 Mini that you get new from Walmart, sits at exactly $290 for the trade in value.

Afterwards, I went to AT&T to give them the 12 Mini brand new in the box and surprisingly, even though I didn't unlock it through straight talk or anything, they accepted it.

I was able to get $1,000 off the Sierra Blue iPhone 13 Pro Max 128gb and paid a downpayment of $188.

$88 was the sales tax and the extra $100 was for an upgrade to the Max model.

They told me the phone gets unlocked after 36 months, and the $27.77 per month will show up on the AT&T bill and automatically pay itself off using the trade-in credit every month.

Final price for the 13 Pro Max came out to be $488. $300 from the 12 Mini, and $188 for the upgrade. If you were to get the regular 13 Pro, it would be $388 total.

If you do get this deal using a current AT&T account, you won't have to pay for a new line, but you will if you don't currently have an AT&T account.

Good deal, but the contract duration on these are getting ridiculous. Used to always be 24 months. Then last couple years it was 30 months. Now it's 36 months? Three years is a long time to keep a phone these days. Would be easy to lose the phone or break it and still be on the hook for the rest of the payments.

Yeah. They had the 36 months for a while now.l for new iPhone. If it was 24 months I'd be all over this. But 36 month just seems a bit ridiculous and I'm not going to support that becoming a norm. But this is a pretty good deal. Not sure how much $28*12 is about 310 ish. Still pretty good I think. Not sure if there will be better deals around Christmas and New Years.

I do agree that 36 months is a long time, however, a lot of people tend to upgrade once every 3-4 years now. Modern smartphones also last much longer as well. Staying with a certain carrier won't have much incentives these days, but if people weren't planning to change carriers anyway then this is a good deal.

Its the phone price you pay over 36 months, so if I didn't put $188 down, I would have to pay an extra $5.22 per month which would just be a headache so I put that down.

The $1k you get off using this cyber Monday deal, will be charged at $27.77 per month on the bill, and you won't have to pay that, it'll automatically pay itself off using the $1000 off you got every month.

Btw if I do this deal with 36 months bill credits and the iphone 14 comes out with another bill credit deal how will that work?

I did do it in store, but I heard it can also be done online. Unsure if you can do it over the phone, but you can call AT&T and ask.

This deal is for Black Friday and Cyber Monday according to AT&T so I am assuming it ends today. That's why I was so quick to buy the 12 Mini and drive over to AT&T so early in the morning. If they didn't take it because it was from Straight Talk, I would have returned the Mini, but they did take it so all is good.

You can call and ask but I think the person in the store told me you can upgrade while paying off this phone or something, I wasn't paying attention much when she told me that so best guess would be to call them and ask.

Edit:

It says this on the terms,

"If you upgrade or pay up/off the installment agreement on the discounted device early, your credits may cease."

I Just left AT&T. You HAVE to upgrade your plan to the unlimited plan to get any upgrade deals. We have a grandfathered plan, not worth it !

This is for post paid plans only, I assume. I have prepaid and probably won't qualify. Pay a lot more in monthly service for post paid so you get a little back in these phone deals.

Thats surprising, I just said that because that's what the person at the AT&T store told me, that since my mom already had a line, she wouldn't have to open a new one.

I supposed that it meant that any plan could work but guess I was wrong about that. My bad.
