The extended warranty purchase and subsequent attempts resulted in hours of phone/email exchanges. I ended up getting it replaced after buying a warranty coverage. Otherwise it would have cost the same as what I had paid for!
Battery is giving alarm as well but they said that I have to buy another warranty that covers battery related issues.
If you really want this laptop be sure to add additional warranty and have continuous coverage for at least two years. You won't regret when it needs that service not too long after your purchase.
