In my opinion a good buy for a camera similar in image quality to the latest RX100 series models but with the ( IMO ) superior ( faster ) 24-70 MM lens.

the ZV1 is basically RX 7 purposely build for vlog. fantastic if that's all you do, but if you looking for a general camera, don't get ZV1.
it got no EVF, much shorter telephoto (24-70 equ vs 24-200 equ), no animal eye AF. that 24-70 lens is really going to limit your usage.

Completely Disagree as I have been shooting the 24-70 for three years. Faster F1.8 than the late model RX's.The light is more important to me than the longer zoom. If I want a true telephoto i'll use my SLR not a pocket camera. There are some tradeoffs ( already mentioned in original post). I'd recommend reading the accompanying review I posted which covers pros and cons. It does have Face & Eye AF

Also as I said I never used the EVF ( or the flash) - The lens ring is the one feature i'll miss.
I shoot with prime lens. yet i recognize the benefit of having a longer zoom range for a all in one camera (general usage, which is what i said).
great camera if your use case fits, just pretty niche that's all.
also not to thread-crap, but F1.8 on a 1 inch sensor isn't that fast. you phone probably has F1.6, on a half inch sensor.

There are pro and cons to everything. Again I think teh review I posted does a good job covering that. In my view this is getting the latest RX series ( hundreds of dollars more) software / focus system and the faster 24-70MM lense of the earlier RX models (before they tried to make it a do everything) with some cons that will alter slightly how some people may shoot. This is essentially a point shoot camera with advanced feature set. A viewfinder on this camera is like adding one to a cell phone. Personally I will use this only on hikes, kayaking, travelling for landscapes, nature, and some long exposure astrophotography in places I cannot carry my big rig.For that it will work wonderfully as my RX100MIII has for years. To each his own.
What cell phone has a 1/2" Sensor? You are out of your depths Donnie.
