Bought this for bedroom a while back.
Viewing angle is really bad, anything much off center and colors fade considerably.
OK for bedroom when watching from front center but would not recommend for living room or any type of viewing at an angle.

Yes, because unfortunately my DeLorean time machine is stuck in 1955 and so I am only able to get deals in the present-2021

How is this one compared to the 50S535 QLED that was at $299 about three weeks ago? I am assuming the quality in 5 series is worth paying $50 more if that deal/price comes back.

Thanks OP, got one. 50S535 QLED that was at $299 seems better value.. but this will do.

Anyone have universal remote recommendations that work well with roku tv?

Harmony. Or if you have appletv that remote will work with CEC enabled. Also worth noting roku has an remote app for iOS and Android

For reference, the TCL 55S21 that Walmart sold for $228 in the run-up to BF is the same as the 55S435, the larger sibling to this 50" set. That was one of the better tv deals this BF season in this size and price range.

The 50s435 should be fine, but the step-up to the 5 series usually costs quite a bit more than $50 (the 50S535 is $450 at Best Buy now. So it would be a good deal at $299.

I have the 55 inch version of this. Viewing angles suck otherwise a solid bedroom tv. Android tv is solid not the fastest but lots of storage. Wifi decent.
