I made a slickdeals account just to make this comment. Gateway's customer support is TERRIBLE. I bought a laptop a few months ago and it stopped working. They don't answer their emails or phone calls even though they offer a 1-year warranty. Just want people to know if your laptop stops working, they will not respond to you or honor their warranty policy.

The target hp is a better buy with a 4 core CPU. It was only $20 more. And the ram and hard drive are upgradeable.

i needed to hear this. i have the target HP unopened because i'm trying to make sure i'm making the right buy. that deal is still like if you can find one despite the post saying it's dead.

Thanks you saved me some serious risk. I'm guessing it's not really Gateway anymore and someone just bought the name Frown

Dell took such good care of me I bought another one.
