If you have Discover reward points (which you accumulate by using your card) you can redeem for gift cards. Nike is on sale for 20% off.

Simply go to your discover account and use your cash back rewards to redeem for a Nike gift card/e certificate. The 20% value will be added automatically for whatever rewards you want to redeem. This will generate a gift card number and pin for you to use when you checkout at Nike.com.
Be aware though as I ran into some trouble trying to apply my e certificate right after I generated it in Discover.com. I could not apply it and Nike.com did not recognize the number. I had to call Discover to verify what was going on and they said that it might be because the transaction was still processing. So
now I'm stuck with a e certificate in limbo that I couldn't use in this purchase and I have to check in the future if the e certificate is valid once the process clears at Discover. It says it's immediately available for use but this is not what happened in my case.

You can on the Nike website. If you have Paypal-Chase, use that to cover the balance so you get 5%

So I placed the order right before I received the response. Now, I can cancel that and redeem the giftcard and then purchase it. With what you described above, I might be stuck with it, if I cant use it immediately...
Plus R10 cash back is on the total value of the purchase or net cash spent? if it is the net cash spent (excluding the giftcard), the saving potential isnt much. R10 cash back is including the giftcard amount too.. then it will be worth doing the monkeying....
(10% R10 + 5% chase+Paypal vs 20% discover)...
