Must be the worlds first example of a leftie being cheaper than a rightie

That's a little odd, didn't notice that. I'll put it in the post.

These guitars are toys
If you are seriously considering this for a beginner consider investing in an instrument that won't have the inherent flaws these will have.
Don't start someone on a path with a junk instrument. For the same or close to price you can get them something better

I gotta agree if the user is known for sticking to hobbies -- but sometimes when you start something new it's good to start with a cheapie. If you see a better deal, post it-- otherwise it just sounds like you're talking s***-- and makes you look like a grumpy old man

How about a used one. You might be able to sell it for the same price or a small loss. That's what my grandparents did, too. 😉

I think the biggest issue with cheap guitars like this is how bad the pickups sound, it's like if they spent like $1 more on them each in the production process they would sound so much better

I think I would go for the monoprice when it drops to 79.99 if I was a righty player. The monoprice takes standard strat upgrades quite easily.

drums, brass, or violin would be more effective, I think.
