This deal is not as good as I thought. There is no 5% Red Card discount. When you use Target GC, you only get 5% Red Card discount for the amount you charged to it. So essentially you are only getting 5% more compared to just charge using your Red Card.

This deal is not as good as I thought. There is no 5% Red Card discount. When you use Target GC, you only get 5% Red Card discount for the amount you charged to it. So essentially you are only getting 5% more compared to just charge using your Red Card.

You get any additional % cash back on the non red card you use as well as you generate the 1% Target Circle cashback when you use a gift card. You don't get the 1% Target Circle when using Red Card.

Wonder why a lot of other companies (walmart etc.) don't do this. All gift card sales are interest-free debt for the companies. All of us are essentially lending our money to Target at 10% fixed interest.

Target doesnt allow purchase of any third party gift cards using Target gift cards. Can only buy merchandise.
