Do you want a real keyboard with a trackpad, or a weird fabric-covered keyboard-esque case? Because the latter is all the Smart Keyboard really is. It gets the job done, but it's very basic in both form and function.

I own both Apple's Smart and Magic iPad keyboards. The 11" Magic Keyboard will also work with the latest Air (2020). The Magic Keyboard is a thousand times better than the Smart one (trackpad, illuminated keys, adjustable viewing angles, well-built, and a far better typing experience) - but it's also egregiously overpriced. And if you use the Pencil a lot, it's a poor choice, because you can't angle back the screen quite far enough to use it effectively.

tl;dr - I have no personal experience with this Logitech product, but I'm guessing it sits in between Apple's two OEM options: far superior to the Smart Keyboard, but probably not quite as good as the Magic. And it's probably a better choice than the Magic Keyboard if you use the Pencil a lot.

I have got the apple version if anyone needs it; I was supposed to order iPad for the keyboard but never did. Now it's just lying around in original packing.

DM if anyone want it

If you need to price match to another retailer that requires the item to be available for immediate pickup or shipment, Walmart has matched the price: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Logite.../429885006

Good deal. Quick question how "lapable" is this ? Can you use it on your lap while you're sitting on the bed ?

Such a shame, just because of the camera layout this can't be compatible with Pro 11 inch, unless you cut it I guess

I'd posted this first in the other Apple keyboard cover thread, but I guess it guess it doesn't hurt to have its own thread.

Please keep in mind this only works on the current, 4th gen iPad Air.

It's NOT as thin as the Apple keyboard cover without touchpad, but it works well. It does have mushy keys, so keep that in mind if that bothers you.

It also supports multi touch, so like using 4 finger swipe to change to other open apps.

Very good quality.

I believe this is better as far as protection goes but the experience is likely a little better on the Apple one.

I tried the Magic keyboard from Apple first and it was pretty cool, it my two gripes were the backs of my fingers tending to hit the bottom of the iPad when typing along the top row of keys.. and also that there are precisely 0 function keys on the keyboard itself.

The Logitech by contrast keeps the iPad out of the way (it has an angled stand to prop it up which works great on a flat surface, thought not as "lappable" as the Apple case). And the Logitech also has a full top row of function keys that make it feel more like you're using a MacBook. Lastly, the Logitech has the exact same support for multitouch gestures as the Magic keyboard too, and for a faaaaaar lower price!

Either keyboard is a very nice experience, so your buying decision mostly boils down to which one's nitpicks are less annoying for you. I imagine most would be happy with either. My wife has this exact Folio Touch and loves it (and this is a better price than we got a few months back!). I opted to kick it up a notch and got a Folio Combo Touch. The main difference is the Combo Touch keyboard magnetically attaches to the case so if you don't need it (like for use in bed or on the couch web surfing) you can snap it off and not have to fold it behind (like this Folio Touch model) which reduces the weight in your hand without having to "finger" the inactive keyboard keys on the back lol. Again, to each his own in this one. All three models are super cool!

This is better than apple Smart Keyboard. It has backlight keyboard. The best non-apple keyboard should be Logitech folio combo, which is an upgraded version of this folio touch.

One small note… the Folio Touch does not allow you to separate the keyboard from the device. The Logitech Combo Touch does.

I have the Combo and absolutely love it. I disconnect the keyboard often and it helps save on some weight. I think this is still a nice deal but just something to think about as that's the only reason I went Combo over Folio.

I'm typing this on the combo touch 12.9" right now. I love it. Great typing experience, well built, function keys, and protection. I'm glad I went with this over the Apple alternative. Logitech has never done me wrong with their peripherals.
