Quick question about bumpers. My wife wants to get back into weights. If i get the 10 or 15 lb bumpers, will they flex and bow if we add smaller weight plates? (ex. 15 bumper plus an iron 10 or 25 per side) I have seen some comments in the past that the cheaper weights don't hold their shape.
Thanks
I believe that the recommendation is to not have more lbs of iron plates of a smaller diameter than bumpers. So if you have 15 lb bumpers on each side, you wouldn't want more than 15 lb iron plates on each side. Now if she's not dropping weight, maybe that doesn't matter as much, but that's usually the guidance that I see about it.

Although there are some reviews, a lot of them are from the manufacturer website and seem fake. There is 1x 1 star saying they are of poor quality and the everyday essential (the other walmart brand) bumpers have a lot of pictures of broken bumper plates. Is there anybody there with the actual plates able to talk about the quality of them?

I have a pair of 25's in the Everyday Essentials and they seem fine to me, although I don't drop the weights and I'm not an expert.

The difference is actually closer to 1/4" (17.5" vs 17.75"), so if you're trying to drop carefully that does make a difference. I have no doubt they'll still hit sometimes, but more of the initial shock will be absorbed by the bumpers... Which is all I can ask for.

And yes, smaller 45s are nice for this.
Just got mine today. They measure 17-11/16", or 449.25mm. I would guess they're the same diameter as the Everyday Essentials. I will say these seem to be harder than the Everyday Essentials I played with in the store.

Are these better than my 1940s deep dish York 45s?

2 × 55 lbs bumper plates for $139 + tax. Free shipping. Older or expired postings don't show the new lower price for pair of 55 lbs. $1.26/lb is a fantastic price for new bumper plates shipped, even for pre-covid.

Good luck.

I bought these. The price is right. But unfortunately they were very poorly made. Gouges, cracks, off centered. And they came in one busted up box. I didn't have the heart to make the UPS guy pick it up again so I wheeled all 110lbs into walmart to return.

thanks, I was going to cancel my everyday essentials 55lb plate order for this. But it looks like the quality of that is decently better than this to make the few dollars Diff worth it.

How is the quality of these bumper plates vs the Everyday Essentials brand @ Walmart? I've heard some pretty bad things about this brand...
