FWIW... per the BB Q & A section and Rtings.com, this 55", like the 65", uses an IPS panel. Rtings reviewed the 65" model so the attached Rtings info should be fairly credible for this 55" version.

I might be wrong, but I thought Android TV software was being updated to mimic Google TV software or at minimum get some of the features.
