The thing I hate about using gift cards at Lowes, and maybe Home Depot is the same, god forbid you have to return something, they treat you like a criminal. And the return gift card they issue can only be used by the person returning! In the past, I had my wife return something I purchased with gift card (with receipt), a new gift card issued, but she needs to be there to use (with drivers license). I get that it's probably cut down on fraud, still a pain to honest customers.

Completely agreed with you that it's a PITA. On top of that they also ask for your ID which makes no sense since there's a receipt for the return. And it's not a gift card but a store merchandise card and it can't be use online either

Lowes doesn't let you use their Gift Card to buy another retailers' gift card.

To elaborate, to buy other cards at Lowes, it must be a physical Happy Holidays card and one that says "run as credit card". The gift card type will not work, and certainly not e-giftcards..

Once you get the gift card you go redeem them to any of the stores listed for a gift card of that store. Then you can buy whatever you want from the store and pay with the gift card. . I did not try it this time but in the past you can even split the balance i.e. buy a $50 gift card for one store, $50 for another and $15 for a third.

They will email you a link. You follow the link and you swap the happy card for the gift card of your choice.

I am not sure if there's a limit. I would buy them one at a time and see if the bonus card shows up in the shopping card. Sometimes it helps if you use different emails / credit cards.

I've noticed this as well, but I was able to get the 4x points multiple times (the coupon said unlimited use). To be sure, ask the cashier to check to see if the 4x coupon code shows up before you pay. As long as you don't pay for your order, they can cancel the gift card purchase.
