I own both, the Craftsman one has better casters and a stronger base/tray

ok, but this one is $20 and the HF one is $33. Even if they're identical (another person has already said that they have both seats and they are not identical), this still otherwise seems like a very good deal to me.

So is $20 a good deal then? I have to buy my boy another, bc it got stolen from the jobsite! I'm only ever on my cell browser… what's the deal w/ SD rewards points? Benefits?

The old HF is similar to this Craftsman. The new HF has non-marring polyurethane/nylon wheels, full ball bearing top swivels on the casters, a nicer powder coated finish and in my opinion, a better stool. Now $13 better than the Craftsman? Even though I paid $25 on sale for the newer HF, it is worth it to me, to not have those black marks all over my shop floor and no name plastered all over it. Today, Craftsman and Junk are synonymous, so not really into advertising for them.

Actually, I think it is the older HF model with Craftsman stamped on the seat. The newer HF is built better than their old version that was $20, but now has non-marring wheels. I gave my old HF away, that like this Craftsman, got tired of the black marks all over my epoxy floor. A new one on sale for $25 was about as cheap as replacing the wheels. I almost bought a DeWalt that is a better stool, but like this Craftsman, I don't like the names plastered on them.

my HF one seat just snapped due to poor welding. Now I got a rolling tool tray with a stick in the middle and a nice padding.

So is the new HF one the one with the red wheels? It doesn't say non-marring anywhere, so I want to be sure I set an alert for the right item.

Yes, the red nylon wheels.... It may or may not say anything about non-marring, but from experience, they are much better than the black rubber like material wheels. I don't know that the older model with black wheels like the Craftsman is being sold, but I suppose there could be some old inventory still around.

Curious of what you use for an alert for HF? ... Thanks

I ordered one and picked it up at my nearest ACE. They acted so surprised about the price. I was using buckets for this job, so 20 bucks ain't nothing but a ting.

My neighbor down the road just buys new and a week or two later, takes the broken same model back for a refund. He is always scrounging through dumpsters.

A bit unethical for my tastes, I would just weld it back up and not go over the weight limit. Just in case it catches on a cord, hose, etc., I think you are supposed to take a little weight off before rolling.

used mine for 5 years, it wouldn't die, got rid of it and bought a cobalt model, it had a larger base and was a square which I preferred, and I like blue more than red

I've done similar things with their ball joint tool somehow it's not classifieds under hand tool. I don't have a lot on the tray either, and I weight only 180lb
