Royalty fee is a false advertisement scam. No other online music providers charge it. I run as fast as I can once I hear it.

They want new customers to show growth. Obviously you keep renewing so there's no need to send you a discount offer.

Looking a little further, it appears this offer will only be extended to radios in cars that have not had a subscription for 5 years. So that means that unless your car is a 2015 model or older (considering that most cars with a sirius/xm radio also have a free subscription for a good chunk of time which would have to run out), your car radio is pretty much automatically disqualified from this promotion.

They currently have a holiday special for 6$ per month for 1 year. You can renew every year.

Anything beats their normal monthly rate of $21.84 per month with all taxes and fees included

Actually, I got a new car about a year ago and they charged me. I lease so I transfer my service to a new vehicle every 3 years and this was the first time I was ever charged to transfer.

Good deal to increase subscribers.

In reading the thread it's interesting how we're willing to pay Spotify or YouTube or several others $10, but SXM is somehow supposed to be able to do it for $2 on a regular basis. Can we be realistic on what it costs to run and maintain a business, especially one in media?

I really like listening to XM radio when I have a car that it's active on. I just hate their scammy business practices.

Same,I got mine in January 2008 for 399 and I'm glad I did. My wife's free 1 year sub ran out recently in our new vehicle and they sent her a postcard for 5 bucks a month for a year so we hopped on it.

We lifetimers have to pay 35 for transfers,it used to be 75 before the lawsuit.
