My radio was up for renewal and was offered $72/year, but they wouldn't budge on giving credit card, instead of paying by invoice. Cancelled, and will wait for offers. I always got bill 2 weeks late and of course $280/year, which if I had CC on file they would have charged. I will do without before giving SiriusXM my CC#
What you do on this is agree to the credit card, then call up 2 days later and change it over to invoice billing. They say its going to cost more to do it, blah blah blah, just agree, its at time of renewal, and you arent going to renew unless you get a deal so downside you get sirius for 1 month for free, upside you get a better plan in 6 months or so.

Hope this helps Smilie

I have a lifetime deal I bought in May 2008.
No need for any other contact ever.
I have a sky-fi portable satellite radio with the boom box for it. Bought it at Goodwill for 20 bucks about 6 or 7 years ago. It apparently has a lifetime subscription as it's been going strong all this time.

Royalty fee is a false advertisement scam. No other online music providers charge it. I run as fast as I can once I hear it.
If you tell them you don't wanna pay it eventually they take it off

Every year or so we sign up for a 6 month plan, I listen to it for a couple of months and then I get sick of hearing the same crap and give up.
I wish there was a way to block out a bunch of channels to skip over. I'm a Gen xer who grew up on classic rock but does anybody really need a U2, Pearl Jam or DMB or Phish or Bruce channel? I can't even imagine listening to the vaguely related content they play on the Beatles channel all the time. Tom Petty is cool but 24 hrs a day?

Can someone tell me the appeal of xm. Why pay them 60+ a year when I can go to Spotify youtube music or any other streaming service and pick the music i want for a few dollars more. I had a xm trial and felt like I was listening to the same old radio cept now I had 10x more times cycling for something good. With the news on the fm stations and crafted music on Spotify I'm set. I ask because I'm always getting spammed for a new offer by xm.

Just grab a virtual credit card number from your credit card account. Most credit card companies allow you to do this from your account. You can set the amount and expiration date. A random card number is generated, but still gets charged to your "real" credit card.

Sports is the key reason I have it.

I've seen that offer for older cars, I assume in the hope it won't make it the 3 or 5 years. I started mine last year on an 08 Chevy.
you can transfer the remainder of a subscription to another car

Only three banks in the United States offer virtual credit cards to their customers. They are Citibank, Bank of America, and Capital One

Could you please give us examples of those "most credit card companies"? I used to have it with BoA - not anymore

BoA doesn't do VCCs anymore. However, Visa apparently has a service called "Click to Pay", which allows VCC for any registered Visa cards. I've never used it as I have VCC through my Citi card, but might be worth checking out.

It's possible not all Citi cards have it, but it should be right there when you log in, or somewhere under account services. I have a Dividend card and I use the VCC all the time. They did recently change how it works, since it used to be Flash, but it should still be in the same place right at the top of your account (assuming you have it at all). I should add I think you have to do it via web browser. I don't think the app has it.

My answer is (And not in a mean way) if you don't know why you probably don't need it. Driving around and losing the cell signal isn't fun when traveling if you are streaming. Nowhere near the amount of commercials on many channels. Getting my local sports. I like a couple of the DJ's on the Decades channels it isn't always about just music. I very often listen to the comedy channels. If none of that makes it worth it for you then as I say you don't need it.

I cancelled my renewal simply because they talk so much between songs. That and the bumps or whatever they call them. I swear they don't do two songs in a row without some interuption. I listen to Lithium, Classic Rewind, channels in that genre.
