Royalty fee is a false advertisement scam. No other online music providers charge it. I run as fast as I can once I hear it.

They want new customers to show growth. Obviously you keep renewing so there's no need to send you a discount offer.

Looking a little further, it appears this offer will only be extended to radios in cars that have not had a subscription for 5 years. So that means that unless your car is a 2015 model or older (considering that most cars with a sirius/xm radio also have a free subscription for a good chunk of time which would have to run out), your car radio is pretty much automatically disqualified from this promotion.

my radio subscription has been off since this summer (Aug 2021)
I have seen some offer letters in the mail but meh...

so I saw this on slickdeals
& logged into my SiriusXM account,
nope, only showing some $5.99 a month offer
I hit back/forth a few times ... same offer

so I called & the call center
asked for the $99/3 year offer
the rep stated I am not able to receive that offer I would have to receive a letter
the rep offered $5 / month for the music & entertainment plan (comes to like $6/month after taxes) for 12 months

meh, told him I would think about it ...
no counter offer on the phone...but maybe I will get a letter offering the $99 for 3 years in the mail now.... lol

we will see

For me, the college and pro sports streams make this worth it. For most, who aren't in their cars on weekend/nights, this is a non-factor

After playing the 6 month or (lately) 1yr renew game for 10 years, I've had it. They finally refuse to extend the 5/mo deal and send me a paper bill. I cancelled and it feels great. Worst business model on earth.

Ouch. 10,000 shares for $1,200 would be worth $62k today.

They are a crap company, but much like OnStar, there is a market.

Thanks. Going to shoot for $60 this year. Usually I think it's something like $100-$120, but can't recall if that's with fees or taxes or not.

If you were lucky enough to buy a lifetime subscription, the Sirius v Alvarez now allows unlimited transfers for a $75 fee. I made sure to transfer my subscription before I sold my old car. The subscription was actually more valuable than the car lol Smilie
