It wasn't a random give. The person bought a lot of stuff last month from kohls. There's second, accumulative kohls cash thing. You get a few bucks kohls cash on top of regular kohls cash that accumulates. It awards kohls cash at the first of the month in increments of $5. AKA if you have accumulated 57.17. It will award you $55 kohls cash at 1st of month, then reset your accumulated kohls cash to $2.17.

I spent so much I got $60 today. It said I get an extra $10, but I think I just got the $60. not sure.
