I bought this exact card this past prime day... and I've been pleasantly surprised so far. I can't figure out who actually makes these, but for the price (I think it was $180 ) they are really great. On my R5 I've not had any issues with performance shooting RAW and 4K video. They can't do 8K video, I knew that going in and don't need it for that. For the hobbyist, non-pro photographer these are a great option

I can't find anything either beyond that this is a private label type of product from Ritz Camera store. Made in Taiwan though if that comforts anyone. So far the reviews been above average.

As far as I know, this was already the most budget friendly CFExpress card on the market, this really sweetens the deal. These are an absolute necessity for 4K video.

I wonder when SD Express [wikipedia.org] will catch on.

I got the Pergear 512GB card on 11/27 for $315 - 10% but the 10% promote is over. It comes with the new reader. I think this is the lowest price for the 512GB card. The Pergear card Read 1600mbs and write 1200mbs so it's pretty close. Ship date from Amazon is next week.

I feel like this is overkill for a casual user like me but I want it somehow. Must resist the urge

Overkill for 4K video of almost all varieties. Methinks you don't know what you're talking about.

Indeed, this is a pretty bad time to invest in overpriced emergent card formats.

I take fairly long stargazing videos in 4k and this is an absolute necessity

Also if you do photography where extended continuous shooting is required (sports, wildlife, birds, etc) than I highly recommend utilizing cfexpress. Also as cfexpress is cheaper and faster than xqd was, it's a no brainer for those scenarios.

The reviews are pretty bad (from those who had an issue with these). I'd stay away if using it for professional work.

Sometimes B&H has deals on ProGrade or SanDisk or Lexar cards. I'd opt for any of those over this one.

Sony Tough are the best (SanDisk Extreme Pro are up there). They cost more but yeah, there's a reason why.

I've been using Prograde two packs with a 20% off code (Photojoseph I think?) so far I've had good luck with them and their readers.

The bad reviews are all because of people being dumb and not updating firmware on their camera guaranteed...lol.

Dimensions are way too tiny and price is way too low

Type C or go home!
