Thanks for the article link. I actually had this sitting in my cart for a while waiting for it to drop which is how I noticed the sale. The problem is, it happened in December, which is the worst possible time for me to order this laugh out loud

I read the article and I realize the backboard and it might be better overall. But for the everyday kids hoop I wonder if this might be the better deal. Bought this below for $200 but haven't put it together yet.

I got this last year by price matching with Target they also applied the 25% off a toy which they have now until Dec 4. Ended up paying about $275 give or take, might be worth a shot

That article says its an acrylic but the answers to the questions say poly. I might be missing it in the description but didn't see it.

I was looking at this not too long ago. Looks like good bang for the buck, but people did complain about how large the base is and how far it sticks out. Ended up not buying because it won't work in my narrowish driveway

This is a great hoop. I had this for 2 years before upgrading to the 60inch In-Ground hoop a few weeks ago. Funny though , I can get this open box /sometimes new for less than $150. I got my inground hoop for $65 brand new and it's worth $899. SHOP around.

*Edit.. some peeps will claim that I am lying lol so..

Auction house... I guess it can be slick but not exactly repeatable

The specs at Goalrilla.com [goalrilla.com] (the parent company) say the backboard is polycarbonate, in the table comparing different models.
