Let's be real here people and not kid ourselves once things get stacked on this it's never going to get folded!
Good option, but maybe a different use. The fold down ones are to conserve space in a garage or basement.
Some useful reviews there. "I can only securely put lightweight items in the drawers due to pressboard bottoms. The drawers are deep enough to fit tape measures, levels, rasps, files, chisels, extension cords, tape, hacksaw, and parts. Most of our electrical tools are too heavy for this weight of pressboard to support. "
Walmart is also laminated bamboo, while HD's is rubber wood

which one is better? My understanding was bamboo is nice wood for such products and only heard about rubber wood from your post. Looking up online, seems like rubber wood is from rubber plant and medium density but am unclear on how it compares with bamboo (or other woods I have experience with like oak, cherry etc.).
Considering this for a small-ish utility room space (58" long x 45" wide) so can fold down when not in use and get back the space to move around...

For a similar-looking product [homedepot.com], the "depth when the top is folded down is 4.07 inches (10.35 cm)."
I got the Home Depot variant to use as a folding table in our laundry room. Great option.

FYI, you can readily find kits with just the hardware and pick your own thickness, length, and width board (within reason).
