And dual channel mostly helps with Ryzen and GPU. For Intel non gaming machine (like LG Gram) the performance difference between dual and singe is not dramatic, especially when the fist 16GB memory is still dual channel.
So, the statement that 16GB dual channel is better than 16GB dual channel+ 24GB single channel (8+32 sticks) for most users does not make sense.
Are you saying the performance is the same as single channel for the first 16Gb in 8+32 config?
Or is it just slightly below dual channel, but way faster than single channel?
And has the impact been measured by someone? I am genuinely curious.
So crazy light. It would surprise me everytime I would pick it up. Super smooth and responsive with everything I did. No lag or stutter. Screen is actually really nice. Thought it being 1080p would be noticeable, but couldn't see any discernible pixels. Bright and colourful with almost no bezels. Can't believe the new MacBook Pros have that ugly notch when this screen with even thinner bezels has none.
Keyboard and trackpad are good, (not MacBook good, but more than good enough), plus it has a full size numeric pad.
No rigidity issues or flex that I could detect. This surprised me as I had heard some complaints. I picked it up with one hand often, and no flex. They made a really good choice going with magnesium.
Speakers are probably the only thing that were a bit disappointing. Very quiet and hollow even at max volume. Just use headphones and its not relevant.
To sum it up, this is a great laptop and gets my thumbs up for almost perfectly balancing value and portability with performance.
Unfortunately, my experience may not apply for an Office Depot / Office Max laptop. I ran their part number through a search engine and did not find definitive information about expansion. Again, best wishes and good luck.
