Less than 1$/lbs is a very good deal for this type of dumbbell. For reference - amazon basics run ~$1.50 - $1.70/lbs depending on the size

The smell goes away after a couple of weeks.

Just as an reminder, these rubber dumbbells are smelly. That was my main reason I swapped mines to steel(gray) ones. I just could not stand those smell during workout.

Ya, they're not as good, but there's no way I can get 50-90 in real dumbbells. I have the 50lb powerbells and got the 90 to get more weight. The 50s were good because each slot was 5lbs, but on the elite exps, they're 10lbs and it's annoying to use the adders to go up 5lbs. I plan to sell my 50s after receiving the 90s.

save the receipt and wait for stock (i live near a walmart). Exchange and let them know what happened. They are always very easy to take care of it.

Reminds me of the time when I had to wait for a manager to unlock a glass display case so I could buy a $5 phone case from it. Waited 5 minutes (1 minute/$1) before I left my hilariously large shopping cart there and just walked out the door.

Dish soap, or better yet hand sanitizer/alcohol wipes. The smell is from oil used to stop rust/ keep the rubber from getting dried out.

Dawn cuts through grease, but must be mixed with water. (Not typically great for metal) Alcohol wipes and hand sanitizer will clean, but kinda has to be doused on to work. I reccomend putting on top of old shop towels, on top of cardboard.

Both methods work to get off the stinky oil.

Walmart has a wide-range of hex-shaped rubber dumbbells (5lb to 40lb in 5lb increments) for under $1 per pound. Shipping is free if you have Walmart Plus or if you buy over $35 --which should be easy if you are buying a set of dumbbells.

Typically in recent dumbbell sales it seems there is only one particular weight that --for some unknown reason-- has been attractively priced, but all other weight increments are very expensive. So it is a little unusual that in this sale ALL increments are priced below $1 per pound. That seems to be a good deal in the post-Covid, inflationary market for dumbbells --especially for hex rubber dumbbells!

Pre-Covid my trigger price to buy a dumbbell was about 50 to 65 cents a pound but even pre-Covid I was always willing to pay more for hex rubber dumbbells.. So in this post-Covid market --this price seemed almost normal. Admittedly I do not know this brand but it is pretty hard to screw up making a dumbbell.
