if youre a collector, get this knife. if youre a user of tools, get the original non-coated blade. i own the coated and non-coated. it's night and day when it comes to cutting

Try carrying it in your pocket, you'll find dozens of uses for it once you get used to having it. I use my flipper to open packages and envelopes, pry things apart, cut loose threads in clothing, clean my fingernails, and on and on. That's just the everyday stuff. There's also the self defense element. It's just useful for most any human to have a sharp piece of strong steel on their person. It's the most basic and useful tool there is.

Kind of surprised the 940 is still so popular to be honest. I had one and was not a huge fan. The blade shape also strikes me as a bit out of proportion. And I have a lot of Benchmades.

I have been regularly carrying a Bugout 535 for a while now and it is fantastic. Deep carry, great blade profile, super light weight. S30V blade as well.

I've carried a 940-1 daily for years now. Absolutely LOVE this knife. Best I've ever owned. Highly recommend the 940 series if it fits your hand and wear-style well.

940 is a classic. I have the original and carry it often. Even better in my opinion if you call benchmade and request the deep carry clip.

The Benchmade 940 is considered the Michael Jordan of knives. It's been around for a long time but it's a classic, performs well and really hard to beat.

Another thing to mention is that BladeHQ recently had the jade Spyderco Smock for a similar price and those are currently selling for $280-$300. So you won't lose any money if you decide to sell later on.

Jade/natural is the raw color of G10, so it's the easiest one to rit dye any color. Here's a video from BladeHQ if you're up for a little DIY project Smilie

I actually really wish that 20CV Bugout was on sale for the same price again. I have a 940, and while it IS a great knife, I generally prefer it less than my more basic Griptilians or my Bugout.

I've collected a lot of pocket knives over the years and the 940 is my favorite from benchmade, although i like satin finishes a lot more than coated so i gotta pass. Great knife though.

I thought this was going to be a glow in the dark handle. Kind of looked like it. I was going to impulse buy if it was. Kinda glad it's not.
