As a fisherman it's quite illegal in most states to use live bait that's not from the same body of water, which is why most fisherman don't use them, and introducing invasive species is a big no no for game warden and park ranger.
Looks like a good deal, unfortunately I don't think I need any of this stuff. Although, can one really have "too much" fishing gear, maybe I should reconsider?

Is this a good deal if I only need the bucket/lid/net/aerator? Not sure how strong the aerator is either. Seems like a good price for all those things alone but I don't have a real reference point here

I have a lot of fishing gears- still need more …lol
Seems like a decent deal if you need all of the items. A 5gal bucket is $5 at Home Depot or Lowes. And the Mr Bubbles Aerator+Lid will run around $15-20 granted it's for a bigger setup. Not sure if the lid on this Realtree kit will be able to fit a 5gal but I'd imagine not. Not sure on the quality of the knife, pliers, gripper and scissors. The tackle I probably wouldn't be inclined to make much use of...especially the hooks. The cutting board looks kind of handy.

It's a 2.5 gallon bucket, good catch I didn't notice that. I will just buy lid aerator and net from my local
Shop and feel good about it. Thanks!

I imagine most of it is crappy but if I needed a bucket and aerator to transfer bait from bait shop to boat, and needed a few of the items or as backups, I'd consider it. If I'm trying to build a nice setup for fishing, you might as well piece together good deals on nice pieces and forget the low quality stuff.

Great for a Christmas present for a kid to catch minnows and frogs, but nothing really practical for legitimate use.
Yep, anyone who actually fishes is looking at this like, "Hmm, I could use another bucket, but..."
This is like a starter kit for people who don't already fish. Not bad, but most of us who would even look at it have all this stuff.

Yes... But not advisable since they are invasive. Altho I have given the 10 cent feeder tanks at the pet store a second look in the past...
