They still make 3D blu-rays? I thought they stopped making them when UHD took over

I don't really see any point in grabbing this for 3D. The movie wasn't made for 3D so while I suppose if you still own a 3D TV you could get it, it's not going to be something that really shines in 3D.

There was however a lot of stuff filmed in IMAX and placed really well within the movie. Hopefully the UHD disc will include a full screen ratio for IMAX scenes, which would be incredibly nice for home viewing. (Though if the UHD disc has that format the regular Blu-Ray might as well)

No Brainer. 4k. 3D is basically a dead technology at home.

Agreed. I really liked it. I love what Denis Villeneuve did with Blade Runner 2049 and this has a very similar vibe to me.

This movie was fantastic!! I deeply regret not seeing it in IMAX when I had the chance cause a friend said to watch it on HBO max instead since it sucked. But stupid me, I should've realized that most people (including my friend) like the big action Sci fi, superhero, colorful kinda movies these days and don't care about great cinematic visuals, sound and screenplay. This movie was amazingly made, unique and opened up for a one of a kind atmosphere that you won't see anywhere else. 8.5/10 for me!

I'll second this as a great movie. The clarity in visuals is amazing!!!! It tells the beginning of a great story so far. If the next film follows up as well as this, this should be considered a masterpiece. Worst part of this movie is the anticipation. It is a prequel to something amazing

If he/she is contemplating the choice, then obviously he/she has a 3D TV and player at home.

I couldn't agree more that the 3D is dead for home viewing. However, I firmly believe that the 11 year old 3D HD TV that I have (Vizio 55" E series) is still far superior than many other present day "HD" TVs (4K and HDR weren't even around back then) that are HD; and rivals even some 4K HDR TVs today on the lower end of that spectrum. Even though the 3D home viewing died a painful death, I think these TV panels were generally better made and have lasted forever. This particular 3D TV is also a true 120Hz (Xbox Series S recognizes it as 120Hz), and TV watching is just immensely pleasurable on it. I have an LG CX65 OLED for my living room. Now, the OLED has 10 years of technology over that 3D Vizio but the Vizio still proudly serves my household.

Oh and the 3D movies that I do have for it (and some PS3 games) are just a lot of fun Smilie
