A reminder to check out the Libby app and pair it with your local library card. You can get books delivered straight to your Paperwhite this way.
It forces you to activate the Kindle Kids 1 year subscription. Either on your own account or if not, you would have to sign into a different account and activate it there.
I could not find a way around this so I activated Kindle Kids.

Then it opens the Kids launcher. You have to click around to close it and get to the normal Kindle launcher.
I didn't read this part posted anywhere else but once you get through the setup it looks and acts like an adult kindle.
It prompts you to set up the Kindle kids account. If you shut the Kindle off when that prompt first comes up then it goes away when you power it back up.

The Kid's version of the Paperwhite also comes with no ads ($20 to turn off on the adult version) and a 2 year "no worry" warranty vs a 1 year limited warranty on the adult. Add in the case already mentioned (~$20) and it's a great choice for adults too.

Setup is a little bit different and the case is cheap materials but the screen is great.
Seems to refresh more quickly than 1st gen Oasis, warm light is great. Case is magnetic. No ads.
Honestly pretty good.

I gave my 9 year old the standard Kids Kindle with Kids+ and she loves it. I picked up one of these for myself but haven't opened it yet. Does anyone know if the Kids+ 1 year subscription is sequential if you buy two of them?

Here's how the pricing breaks down. The base Paperwhite costs $139.99. Getting rid of lock-screen ads costs $20. The two-year extended warranty is $24.99. A Kids+ subscription is $35.88 per year for Prime members with a single child per device. And let's estimate that the cover would cost $20 on its own. So with the Paperwhite Kids, you get $241 of stuff for $120. That's a killer deal.

Basically, even if you don't use the case or Kid+ you're getting the $160 ad-free Paperwhite for $120.

This is the 2nd best deal since the black Friday sale. Traded in previous gen Paperwhite for this. So just slightly under $60 after trade in and tax. Worthy of the upgrade.

Oof, that's some horrible trade in values. I got this version from Amazon discounted down to ~ $70.00 and would buy again at $119, very good deal for reader, ad free, 2year warranty, case, kids +.

Where does it say that Best Buy will give another 20% off this Paperwhite when you do a Trade-in? I entered all the info for my old Paperwhite on their Trade-In page and they're only saying they'll give me $10, in the form of a refund AFTER I buy the PW. How do you get to the extra 20% off?

Could you please explain how the setup is different?

I bought one from the Amazon deal and I surprising like the case. It's plastic however it's got a nice textured feel to it and it's quite durable. It's nothing fancy but very functional. The new PW is great BTW.

I think they're referring to the Amazon trade in value.
