May have even been longer than that. I first saw the G1 Optimus reissue in a Toys R Us because it had been decades since I had seen it and I just stood there in the aisle holding it in my hands while the nostalgia washed over me. I think it was like $60-$70 at the time and I had a long conversation with myself about how much I wanted it but shouldn't spend that much on it. Growing up and being responsible sucks.

Have my TRU exclusive and unlike this version, it came with a trailer...no wonder we got supply chain issues.
The first time I saw this on the shelf at Walmart it literally took my breath away. The wave of memories and the need to have this(couldn't afford as a kid) overwhelmed me.

I have the first reissue of Prime, paid $50 for it at Toys R Us in the late 90s I think. They've been making reissues for a while and honestly, it seems like they're making them worse each time but jacking up the price.
This brings back some great childhood memories. I hope they improved Optimus' hands though because those came off and thus fell off easily. Plus you had to store his hands in the cabin, place them aside, or else lose them.

It was 2003 actually. I bought it - it came with Optimus's trailer but he had the shorter smoke stacks.
