I picked one up last time this was on SD and I think it's great. I have this light and the Ridgid hybrid folding panel, and they each have their use. This one is great for getting a beam of light into a small space. For example, working on plumbing in a small space where there is no room for a small light and where a headlamp won't shine directly on the area - you can set this light back behind you or off to the side and blast it into the space. The other use is if you need to light up a big space outside, like if your dog ran across a huge field and disappeared over a berm or into some trees. You know, like you're on a cross country road trip and you had to pull over at night in some random field to feed and water your dogs, and before you know it, the one who loves to run is nowhere to be seen. This light does better than your headlights, but that might be because your truck is 15+ years old and the lenses are hazy.

The battery will cost more than the light unless you buy it on a special like the recent battery deals. The recent twin pack of 4Ah was $45.
Actual cost was $55 + tax, shipping was $10.

Thanks. hate conflicting info...
Not really conflicting, more like incomplete.

Your comment about DTFO's warranty policy is true, it just does not mention Ridgid's Lifetime Service Agreement (LSA). I assume this is because it is an Agreement & not a warranty?

Any call to a DTFO will confirm that Rigid FACTORY BLEMISHED items are eligible for LSA.

While registering the LSA: I suggest that you wait until you get the item*, then...
  1. Take a screenshot of your order from the DTFO site (assuming you made an account) and use that as your "receipt".
  2. Register your LSA (which will require you to create an account if you don't have one).
  3. Upload your "receipt" when given the option to do so.
  4. The site will tell you to mail your receipt to them to complete your process.
  5. The workaround (which I HIGHLY SUGGEST) is to call** the General number for LSA (number found at the LSA site) to complete.
  6. When you call, they may ask what is your username so they can access your account.
  7. Once they access your account, they can see that your LSA is pending and they can complete the process once they verify your receipt.
If you uploaded your receipt and they can read it, then you will be approved within minutes.

If they can not read your receipt (happened to me once***), then you may have you to email it to them.

Stay on the phone with them while you email the receipt.
Once you email it, ask them to see if it is there. If they say no, ask them to check their SPAM.
Having to email takes longer, but once they verify you will be approved.

The process changes slightly if you buy from a DTFO store.
The change is that you will have to scan your receipt (if you can) so you can upload it to LSA.

* You have to wait because part of registering requires you to provide a serial number.
** The site also has a Chat button that should work also (but I have not used it).
*** I once asked why I had to send my receipt through email after it has been already uploaded and was told that some new reps can not see uploaded items.

Just before Thanksgiving it was a $45 plus $10 shipping deal posted by Warmonger. In store pickup was also available if you were lucky.

Never any problem getting DTO under an LSA on blemished items. Upload docs and then chat with the rep.

For those who register DTO purchases, what is your experience about fac blemished items and Lifetime warranty. Do things like this fac blem light still qualify for lifetime if registered w/in 90 days from purchase?

Here's what DTO states:
https://www.directtoolsoutlet.com/warrantypolicy
RIDGID Warranty Information
RIDGID Three-Year Limited Warranty
- All RIDGID Factory Blemished Power Tools and Outdoor Equipment are covered by a 3-year warranty.
- *You must retain your receipt as proof of purchase for the use of warranty.
all of my purchases had no issue registering LSA.

This light is incredibly useful and bright - I often turn it down.

The 1/4-20 thread provides a great place to add a D-Ring for a sling or shoulder strap - example D-Ring that does not come off unless you take it off:

This takes Ridgid brand 18v batteries. If you're not already in their ecosystem, I'd suggest to buy a few sets that include the battery and charger.
Search SD for Ridgid and you'll see plenty of previous deals for different tools.

Agreed, the ONLY negative I have about this light is it's not waterproof, or even water resistant, I think. I've never wanted to test it in the rain in case I ruined it.

I find it unsettling that you know so much about me, my dog, and my headlights. Who you been talking to?

Was just yesterday and they may tag the sale over time as EST as their Customer Service hours are listed as EST as well.
