Is this one any better? I'm seeing a bigger screen with twice the storage.

https://www.eluktronics.com/Prome...II-1P16RBF [eluktronics.com]
It's a different manufacturer and it's the one I ended up buying.

In a nutshell:

Prometheus XVII: 17" 16:9 QHD (No HDR) better thermals (important) and a mux switch. Screen is 380 nits (not as bright as the XVI). Made by TongFang.

Prometheus XVI: 16" 16:10 QHD (HDR), no mux switch. Screen is 500 nits (same panel as the Legion 7) so brighter. Made by Quanta.

They're both vary capable laptops, but obviously far from perfect (none are). You can find pretty extensive reviews on both.

Funny that people are bad mouthing Eluktronics for using a platform/chassis thats the equivalent of an open software to install equivalent quality components as every other manufacturer simply because they havent heard of the brand. Welcome to PC gaming, the world here is bigger than the almighty apple or your commercial companies like Dell and HP 🙄. Thumbsed up, I like this deal for a quality company and highly reviewed

Who is this brand???
I am pretty sure I have a vacuum made by this company....?
Reputation.... warranty....???
you don't need to be rude just because you never heard of this brand. They are well known small customizable laptop builder for a long time. Many reviewers including LTT or Dave Lee have praised for their product.

IIRC, there is no MUX switch so you would lose performance if you don't connect to an external monitor.

I would just build a better PC with the 3070 myself for under $1100 (yes this is possible) but I don't care about portability and already have a couple TVs and monitors so just throwing that fact out

Now go ahead and report this and have me silenced so you feel good about your purchases
You can't build a better pc for that in this market.

Any pointers re: building such a PC for under $1100? I'm having trouble seeing how that's possible without bargain-basement hunting for every other component - which, granted, may be necessary...I'm just not sure where to start.

A 3060 TI desktop will be faster than this the 3070 mobile version is almost identical in performance to a regular 3060. You can build a 3060 TI desktop in under $1200

Can you please point me some good deal on a Desktop RTX 3060 Ti so that I can see how that $1200 build can be done? Or you were just referring to the Graphics card price alone?

Same company. The two fans used for cooling in this laptop are so strong that if you run it at max speed from the control center and then move it across the rooms, it sucks all the dust from the room and stores that inside the laptop.

Eluktronics Inc. founded in 2011.
A Value Added Reseller (VAR)

You'd think that they could've come up with a better name.
Eluktronics sounds like a Kmart cheapo brand

Yep, and then you can just chuck that all in a bag and take it to the park for some outdoor springtime gaming. No reason to spend hundreds more on the same components.
