Your question is rather generic. There are a lot of variables in the answer, including which one you're talking about, what kind of enclosure it's going to be in, what you do with the machine it's in, what kinds of temps you have where you live, etc. In most cases a heat sink is not necessary.

For PS5 ? Yes.

This is a nice heatsink:
Sabrent M.2 NVMe PS5 heatsink (SB-PSHS) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09HSQQWCL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_05W7WCQAKQQM1E64KHW3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
But there are plenty of cheaper options

Gen 4.0 5000/4400 MB/s 1800 TBW TLC DRAM. Not a top-speed Gen 4 drive, definitely faster than Gen3, but not up there with the 7000 MB/s flagships.

This is based on the same controller (Phison E16) as in the MSI Spatium M470, which is why it has similar stats. Obviously not as cheap as the Spatium deal, but some prefer a different brand for whatever reason.

Appears to be an all-time low price for this drive at Amazon.

It always goes down just like all tech products. We're now in a pandemic situation that will probably never end so it's a new era of higher prices for everything.

This is not a bad price for and NVMe drive, why negs? Also, will it be good to use in a PS5?

Newegg had a deal throughout the last week for the 1TB MSI Spatium gen 4 with similar specs to this drive for $75 after MIR ($95 without). https://www.newegg.com/msi-1tb-sp...6820140013

the msi/newegg deal is technically on for the rest of today, you can order this and still wait to see if the msi restocks

it has gone in and out of stock for days now

Technically this Inland drive is slightly cheaper. The difference is larger if you want the heatsink version.
It's essentially the same drive as the Sabrent 4.0 (along with many others as another person pointed out) but uses different cache. Kingston in picture on Amazon and Micron in a sample I have.

If you think the price is good now, wait until next year!
